HOW TO PROPERLY MAINTAIN CARPENTRY?

In order for your new woodwork to remain preserved and durable for many years, it needs proper maintenance. Correct handling of carpentry is one of the most important things to take care of so that mechanical errors do not occur.

Also, the carpentry must be kept clean. At Skelin Mont, we recommend that you clean the joinery with plain water and cloths made of microfiber or a soft sponge, because they are gentle and there is no possibility of damaging the joinery. We suggest that you definitely avoid abrasive sponges, wires or various metal objects in order not to damage the woodwork. When cleaning, it is definitely recommended to avoid aggressive cleaning agents, acetone, thinners and abrasive scouring agents. When maintaining woodwork, we must not neglect the edges of the woodwork profile, from which it is necessary to regularly remove dust and other various deposits.

Once a year, it is recommended to coat all moving parts of fittings with lubricating oil in order to preserve their functionality.

Seals on joinery will last longer if we regularly clean them of dust, especially before and after winter, and then coat them with silicone pencil or glycerin.

In addition to the above tips, be sure not to hang anything on doorknobs and window sashes, and do not place things between the frame and the open window sash.

In order for the carpentry in your home to be functional and look beautiful for as long as possible, you need to follow the above tips. Skelin Mont is always at your service with his advice.
